What genetic traits are sex-influenced?
Most genetic traits which are influenced by sex are X linked. (meaning the gene is on the x chromosome.) Women are XX and men are XY. Since a women has two X chromosomes if there is a recessive Disease on one it will not show in her phenotype, however since a man only has one X he will have that gene but will not give it over to his male offspring. (since to create a male the man needs to donate his Y chromosome.) Common sex linked genetic disorders are hemophilia and color blindness. Most other traits come from either the mother or father in a process called genetic recombination.
