Dressage is conservative and traditional so black tack with a white saddle blanket is acceptable. I prefer the look of the flat cavesson bridle, but you can use raised or padded or a hanovarian bridle. Check your rule books for what type of snaffle bit you are able to use. I use a loose ring sweet iron french link. In Australia in pony club dressage you’re not allowed to use any kind of boots or wraps, you might be able to though so again, check your rule books. If you are able to use boots or wraps, match them to your white saddle blanket. If you’re doing low level you might be able to get away with a nice complementing colour piping on the saddle blanket. I’ve decked my gray out in purple and it looks really nice on him.

I’ll probably get a bunch of thumbs down for this since it’s boring but black and white. When my college would host IHSA or IDA shows we were required to use only white saddle pads and either black or white polos/boots. I tend to prefer black polos just because the white gets dirty so quick. I just like how professional and crisp they look and that is what we were taught is to always look professional- even when schooling we were required to wear our hair nets, have our shirts tucked in, no tanks, and some classes required us to wear tall boots. Then again we were always told we are here to become professionals so we had better look like professionals. I will admit I have a pair of navy polos that I would use for trail riding or when we’d have class on the cross country course. All my pads are white though- one of my dressage pads has gold banding though- showing my school spirit lol. As for dressage tack I always prefer black- I rarely see brown anyway.
