What gauge and purity of copper are Niche sinks?
Niche sinks are made of both 16 & 18 gauge, 48 oz. copper depending on their use. As a rule, kitchen and prep sinks are 16 guage and bathroom sinks are 18 gauge. Many suppliers tout their sinks to be 100% pure copper – a little white lie for the sake of marketing. The truth is that copper in the form of articles is generally between 98% & 99% copper, the remaining being other ores associated with the extraction & processing processes.
