What further improvements are expected in Hydraulic Hybrid designs?
The next advance in hydraulics will likely be higher operating pressures. Current maximum pressure is 5000 psi but the next generation accumulator will probably operate at 7000 psi. This advance could increase the vehicle’s operation time with the engine shut off. Or, accumulators could be reduced in size, thus lowering overall cost.
