What funding is available to help schools improve accessibility?
There are several sources of funding available to help schools improve accessibility for disabled pupils and students. The Schools Access Initiative (SAI) funds projects to make mainstream schools more accessible to children with disabilities and special educational needs (e.g. the installation of lifts, stair lifts, ramps and toilets, carpeting and acoustic tiling of classrooms). All mainstream schools are eligible for support under the Initiative.
