What funding exists for traineeships?
Traineeships fall into two categories: Those that are funded by the Department of Employment and Training because they are recognised as areas of skills shortage; and Those that are funded solely by the employer. Unfunded traineeships can be in any area of training at Certificate II – IV level where traineeships have been declared. Commonwealth Government employer incentives may be available for both unfunded and funded traineeships if the criteria are met.
