What full-time management and executive positions are necessary to run a large park company?
A lot of our parks are year-round. Six Flags Over California [for example] is open on weekends through the winter season. There’s only a small window of time that some of our parks in the South are closed. But even for seasonal parks, there has been a lot of infusion of major capital improvements. That takes management staff to coordinate the infrastructure to make sure that all the safety areas are taken care of, to make sure that the master planning is taken care of. We have a general manager and human-resource people [who] look at recruiting and staffing issues throughout the off-season. [There’s also] the operational end to update — ride operations manuals, training programs, as well as the infrastructure for finance and accounting. There [are] a lot of essential positions [for] purchasing and [warehousing] that are there year-round to do ordering and buying for the season. Q: These positions would be based at the individuals parks? A: Absolutely. Q: How about at corporate headqua
