What format will the interview take?
Introductions you will be introduced to the Curriculum Tutor and Curriculum Mentor who will be interviewing you as well as any other applicants. Explanations the University Tutor will give you an overview of the structure of the RE PGCE course at Southampton and how it is assessed, as well as issues such as placement schools and course dates. The M level aspect of the course will be outlined as well as issues regarding funding, fees and bursaries. You will have an opportunity to ask questions. Presentation you will make a short (5 minutes) presentation to the interviewers and other applicants. You will be expected to talk and present your ideas about how you would teach an introductory lesson on either: • Who was Jesus? • Who was the Buddha? • Who was Muhammad (pbuh)? to a group of mixed ability year 8 (13 year old) pupils.
