What foods will speed up my metabolism..?
There are no specific foods that will speed up your metabolism, per se however there are things you can do to NOT slow it down and metabolize foods more efficiently. Keep your system alkaline. Eat lots of vegetables and low acid foods which interfere with nutrient absorption and can make your metabolism sluggish. Caffeine, for example, can give you a boost of energy but there are studies to support that more than a cup a day can slow down the fat burning process in your body, due to its high acid content. Stay away from high sugar foods and starches that can trigger higher levels of insulin to be released and cause your body to store more fat. Eat some protein at every meal and take a bite of your protein source first, before eating anything else, i.e., meat, fish, eggs, etc.. This will release more hydrochloric acid in your stomach, which is the good kind of acid to aid in digestion. Finally, don’t drink a lot of liquids with your food. This will dilute (water down) the digestive enzy
