Oat meal every day is a good start. then increase your fruits and vegetables aiming for more fiber rich foods. Plus I read somewhere (and for the life me I can’t remember where.. not on their website though ) that drinking a glass of Metamucil before breakfast and another after dinner will also help. My husband and I have both been doing the above since February and he now is on the lowest dose of cholesterol med and I still don’t need any (age 61BTW) also if you take supplements a good fish oil will also help (be sure it is mercury and PCP free, contains oil from salmon, and anchovy and find an enteric coated one which will keep from leaving a bad taste in your mouth. lastly, avoid fat rich foods and white carbs.
