What Foods Shouldn I Eat If I Have Acid Reflux?
In acid reflux, stomach acid and bile are pushed out of the stomach and into the esophagus, causing irritation and inflammation. It is sometimes called gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. The most common symptoms of acid reflux are heartburn and pain. Acid reflux occurs when the sphincter that closes off the stomach from the esophagus does not work properly and allows stomach contents to push back up. There are many treatments available, including dietary changes.
