The major foods to avoid are Chicken, Corn, Wheat and Soy. If you suspect a food allergy, read the ingredients on everything, food and treats, that you are giving your pet. Eliminate these ingredients for at least a week to 2 weeks and looking for symptoms to stabilize or decrease. If you are switching from Chicken, your best bet is to try more unusual proteins like lamb, duck, venison or a fish. Better grains to have are brown rice, barley, quinoa, and oatmeal. For some dogs, switching off grains entirely also can be beneficial.
