What flying insects / bugs are making a big mess on my trucks windscreen ?
I think identifying the exact species would be hard, without having samples of the insects, or having a specialist watching, with expert vision, as they hit the screen. There are newer insects visiting countries this year, some of them highly attractive, but these are probably not in high enough numbers to be hitting your truck on a regular basis, presumably as you cover a wide area in your travels. Most of the news covers those insects, such as new butterflies that people want to see, rather than some drabber insects that fewer people are interested in. Otherwise, wet summers, and we’ve had 2 of them consecutively where I live, provide perfect breeding conditions, as well as succulent plants that many insects feed off, meaning that populations are higher. I guess the solution is to find the best cleaner to help you remove the mess. My windscreen has also been in a worse state this year, potentially for the same reasons – it’s not nice! Hope this helps. Good luck!
