Flowers that do well in pots in the shade: begonias, impatiens, & fuschia. Swedish ivy can add a nice touch planted along with your flowers. Make sure that your plants don’t dry out. They should be “watered until the water runs out the bottom of the pot. You should also fertilize your containers once a week all summer long (this includes hanging baskets).” Or you could use the type of fertilizer pellets that you only apply once & last for 3-4 months If you buy your plants already potted in a nusery, they may not need any extra fertilizer. Check to see if they already have fertilizer pellets in the soil.
