What fish would do good with a discus?
Some people report keeping Plecostomus sp. with Discus quite successfully. Others have kept them in community tanks with variable amounts of success. My opinion has always been that, since Discus are a schooling (shoaling) fish that need special water conditions, heaps of room and daily fresh water changes and in order to avoid fighting and bullying they need to be kept in groups of at least 5. The only fish I would put in with Discus are more Discus. The minimum sized tank in which to rear a group of 5 to 7 Discus is a 6 foot x 2 foot x 2foot.
