What first names are used both in English and some other language?
Actually, neither of the names you mention is English although English speakers use them. Paul is Latin in origin, and Michael is straight Hebrew. Many of the names we use as English speakers actually have their origins in other languages. There are some names that I would consider truly English by virtue of their coming to us through Saxon, Germanic or Anglic sources. We no longer use most of the really old ones (think Aetheldred, for example). But some like Robert, Richard, Chadwick, Alfred, for example, can be said to be truly English.
