What Final Exam score do I need to pass?

If you have 70% right now, it means that you received 63 (70% of 90) of the possible 90 (100-10% for the final) points the class has covered to this point. You will need at least 7 (7+63=70) out of the 10 remaining points to get a 70 in the class. So the answer is: at least a 70% for a 70% in the class. The highest grade you can get is actually a 73, and that’s if you get a perfect score on the final. Basically, your final grade equals 63+whatever % you get on the final divided by 10.

My school is on a semester schedule instead of trimesters, so I calculated it a little differently. Do you have 2 semesters or 3 trimesters? What were your first and second semester grades or your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester grades? I’m just going to assume that the 70 is the average of your semester grades. If you have a 70 average, then you would need a 70 on your final to make a 70 for the class. That’s just logical – average a 70 with a 70 and you get 70. However, if you wanted to figure out what final grade you needed in order to have an 80, you’d actually have to calculate it. Multiply 70 (your current grade) by 0.9 (because it counts for 90% of your final grade). Subtract that from 80 (the grade you’re trying to achieve), and in this case you get 17. Divide that by 0.1 (because the final exam counts for 10% of your final grade), and in this case you get 170. So you would need a 170 on your exam to raise your grade to an 80. Probably not going to happen though. If you get a 100 o
