What files are written, and to which directories?
WorkPace will create a “.workpace” directory in the user’s home directory when run by that user. In that directory, WorkPace will create and maintain a user file containing the user’s information, statistics and personal settings. If the user running WorkPace has permission to write to the directory WorkPace is installed in, the user file will also be created and updated there. This is to ease the use of WorkPace Reports for analysis of user files. Users never require permission to write to the main WorkPace directory. If a user registers WorkPace, the registration file “wpreg.bin” will be created in their “~/.workpace” directory. If they have permission to write to the “system” directory in the main WorkPace directory, then the registration file will also be written there, and the registration will be global.
