Burlington County Library Headquarters holds a comprehensive collection of U.S. Federal and New Jersey State Census enumerations on microfilm, including the Special Population enumerations (Slave Schedules, Mortalitiy Schedules), the Civil War Veterans & Widows Schedule, and the Agricultural Schedule. A complete list is available on our Census Enumerations guide. Customers also have access to the U.S. Federal Census via Ancestry Library Edition or HeritageQuest. Both databases are accessible in-house at all branches of the library system. Additionally, BCLS cardholders may access HeritageQuest remotely with your library card barcode number. Also, check the Family Search index to the 1880 U.S. Federal Census. Please note: Library staff cannot do extensive census research for either cardholders or non-cardholders.
