SPECweb2005 includes the following improvements over its predecessors: • Three workloads (Banking, Ecommerce, and Support) instead of one • Client/prime client has been completely rewritten in Java for cleaner, more portable code • Change from connection-based quality-of-service (QOS) to a Web page-based QOS • User think time between page requests is now modeled • Clients send conditional GETs (If-Modified-Since) requests to simulate browser caching effects • Client-side flexibility has been greatly increased; modifications to workloads can be easily made via configuration files
