What features are incorporated into the Intel 815E chipset?
The Intel 815E chipset allows the choice of using either the integrated 3D video graphics controller or an external AGP adapter. If the internal graphics controller is used, the AGP slot can be used with a Graphics Performance Accelerator (GPA), which contains a dedicated graphics display cache for enhanced video performance. The 815E chipset can use 133 MHz or 100 MHz SDRAM. The integrated IDE controller in the ICH2 supports ultra ATA/33/66/100 modes. The ICH2 contains an additional USB controller that provides up to 4 USB channels. The ICH2 also contains an integrated LAN Media Access Controller. Note: To make use of the integrated LAN Media Access Controller, the desktop board needs a Platform LAN Connect (PLC) device, either on the board or on a Communication and Network Riser (CNR) add-in card. The Intel 815E chipset will also support the optional DVO connector. When used in conjunction with an add-in Digital Visual Interface (DVI) adapter, a digital flat panel display can be used
