What features are included in the jitterbug phone for boomers?
I think on of the best features of the Jitterbug phone is that it has “operators standing by”, as part of their phone service–they can help you make a call, get directory assistance or add a number to your phone directory. Especially in cases of emergency, when the caller might not be thinking straight and might be having difficulty, this would be a nice feature to have. The phone itself, however, doesn’t have the usual “special features” like a camera, a mp3 player, things like that. It promotes itself as a SIMPLE phone, and for the elderly, that is something they need and want. In addition, it has large buttons, and the screen also shows the numbers larger on it. The speaker is specially made to be heard easier. See the photo for even more specifics. This is something that I know many older people would appreciate, especially someone like my stepfather who has such a hard time with his cell phone. This sounds ideal for him. http://www.jitterbug.
