What factors most affect international student exchanges?
Reciprocity is an important component of any exchange and must be considered carefully prior to the formalization of any exchange program. Simply put, we must know that we will be able to send out roughly as many students as we accept from a given school for the exchange to be financially viable. English language ability of incoming students is crucial for the viability of an exchange, since at UGA courses are taught in English. UGA also looks for courses taught in English and other language support at the partner institution as a gauge for viability, since UGA students will need a full semester or year of course work abroad to avoid falling behind in their degree objective.
