It was the best excuse they could come up with to ruin the culture of the Native American and not feel bad about it. Groups often take on a superior attitude to take what they want without regret or apology. Hopefully we have matured as a nation to see that is no longer a way of cultivating the planet. But when I see third world countries doing to themselves what we have previously done to ourselves, I think it is a bit presumptuous of us to criticize them. It should be our position to help them mature so that they see it is wrong for them just as it was wrong for us. The Peace Corps is probably the best example I can think of for leading by example. I am sure there are many. But I do agree that occasionally a country like ours needs to step in and eliminate a dictator or regime that threatens the world. If not us, then who? There is no such thing as manifest destiny unless you believe God is directing you to treat the world as your slave. I do not believe any religion, invented by man
