What factors does a Commissoiner consider when deciding whether or not an offender should be paroled?
We look at multiple factores when conducting a parole grant (initial) hearing. These include, but are not limited to: the nature and circumstance of the offense; victim input; history and pattern offenses; prior major incarcerations; insitutional adjustment; rehabilitation; prgramming needs; home plans and employment readiness. Note: The nature and circumstance of the offense is a “static” factor and should not be considered in the first hearing. The decision to grant, refuse, or set a rehearing date is put in place at the initial hearing.
