It was discovered that the civilizations of Africa were influenced by the movement of its people and the way natural resources were developed by these civilizations. Also, sub-Saharan Africa was a distinct cultural region that developed because it was isolated from the rest of the world and no other culture could impose its culture upon the Africans. Africa’s culture was not known as an “elite culture” but developed more as a culture of “small traditions.” The area had hundreds of languages and dialects, yet each area developed without much interference from outside influences or the influences of other tribes and nations form other neighboring areas.
