What factors affect viscosity?
It depends on what the situation is, but most commonly it’s the fluid type and temperature. In other words, if you have water at a certain temperature, it will have a given viscosity. Here is a link to chart of temperature vs. viscosity for a few different fluids: http://www.lightmypump.com/images/viscosity-table.jpg Technically viscosity is the resistance to movement through the fluid, sort of like friction (it’s often described as friction from a fluid). And like friction there is no formula you can use to solve for it, you have to look it up from experimental charts. I believe that pressure can have an effect as well, but that is such a rare case that it’s generally not applicable, so you won’t find much information on it.
