What extracurricular band activities are offered at BHS?
Jazz Ensemble – Traditional “big band” instrumentation (saxes, trumpets, trombones, rhythm section). This group participates in concerts, contests, and community events. It is open to all students in a curricular music ensemble at BHS. Auditions are held in the fall of each year. Jazz Band – Semi-traditional “big band” instrumentation (can include other instruments; i.e. clarinet, flute, horn, etc.) This group participates in concerts, contests, and community events. It is open to all students in a curricular music ensemble at BHS. Auditions are held in the fall of each year. Swingsinger Combo – provides music for the BHS Swingsingers. Instrumentation is limited to 1-tenor sax, 2-trumpets, 1-trombone, and rhythm section. Auditions are held in the fall of each year for any open spots. Musical Pit Orchestra – provides music for the Fall Musical. Instrumentation is limited to the requirements of the score. This group is open to all students in a curricular music ensemble at BHS.
