What experience or qualifications are required to train as an energy assessor?
No previous qualifications or experience is required, however you must have basic computer skills as all assessors must input data into a software program in order to produce the energy performance certificate. It is an advantage if you have worked in the construction industry before or if you have a small amount of knowledge relating to property. But because the energy diplomas are relatively new not many applying candidates have industry experience. The Energy Link trains many people, with or without experience. It is worth remembering that assessors will develop themselves with experience.
