What exactly makes a good pendulum?
A “good” pendulum is one that you love because of its beauty and healing energy, and in this you not only treasure it, but rely upon it and use it daily. A good pendulum is one that does more than swing -a “good” pendulum calls to you with its beauty and instills confidence as it provides a balanced, harmonious synthesis of these three elements: weight-stone, fob, and chain. 1. Weight-stone. This is the heavy thing at the bottom (and the element that people pay most attention to). I use a wide variety of both traditional and non-traditional shapes and stone types in my pendulums. Did you know there’s absolutely no requirement that the weight-stone have an actual point? An orb or a teardrop are just as useful as a traditional tapered “point”. 2. Fob. This is also called the “holding bead”. It’s the part at the top that lets you hold on without touching the chain. My fobs are typically sterling silver or carved stone pieces. I put as much thought into the fob as I do the weight stone. So
