What exactly is the Bob Ross technique?
Bob Ross, an American TV artist invented the technique because he felt that art should be available to everyone, not just a fortunate few. He invented the “wet-on-wet” technique to simplify oil painting. Using special paints and equipment, a canvas is coated with a thin oil-based preparation which stays wet whilst the painting is being completed.Q: How does the Bob Ross technique differ from conventional oil painting? A: “Wet-on-wet” paintings are always completed in a single sitting. Special formula paints are used exclusively together with brushes and knives designed solely for this technique.
