We work with children aged 3-7 years old who attend a playgroup, nursery or school. These children might be having a difficulty with learning to follow rules and routines, developing their play skills or co-operating with others. They may become frustrated, naughty, aggressive or destructive when challenged. Once the initial assessment has been completed and you decide to join the scheme a support worker will begin working with your child at school and at home. A planning meeting is held where initial long term targets are set and agreed upon. The support worker spends 5 hours in the educational setting and up to 3 hours in the home. They will develop learning through small steps and goals – aiming towards changing the behaviours targeted in the programme. Parents groups and holiday clubs are also part of the scheme.
