What exactly is meant by a “hypodermic” needle?
Hypodermic syringes and needles, as defined by NYS, are instruments expressly designed for the introduction of medicines beneath the skin. These are the standard syringes and needles that a physician or nurse would use to deliver a vaccine or draw blood. Many laboratories around campus also have other uses for these instruments that have nothing to do with medical applications.
