What exactly is Marble (in simple detail)?
Marble is a more delicate stone, softer than many other natural stones. Traditionally used for pastry and candy making, marble has also been popular for table and furniture tops. Marble is softer and more susceptible to staining, thus more frequent sealing is recommended to repel staining. Marble is recommended for Vanity, fireplace, tables, tub decks and floor tiles, while in the kitchen, should be limited to a baker’s table for rolling dough. Marble comes in many different colors, usually heavily veined, revealing many grains and is favored for its beauty and design. Marble tiles are available polished or tumbled for a less formal appearance. For stain resistance, sealing with an impregnating sealer is recommended every 3-6 months, depending upon use.
