What exactly is Eugenol and why is it in Tomcat Glue Traps now?
Eugenol is a natural anesthetic. Eugenol is made from cloves and is responsible for the aroma they give off. In lower concentrations the substance is used in perfumeries, flavorings, medicine and essential oils. For medicinal purposes, it is used as a local antiseptic and anesthetic. In an overdose situation, Eugenol causes diarrhea, nausea, convulsions, dizziness and or rapid heartbeat. Precautions Try not to touch the glue substance in the trap. When you do get stuck, resist the urge to throw it off your hand or twitch. Those reactions will only cause the glue to contact more of your skin. Instead, simply put the trap down and use a free hand to slowly pull the other out. If touched wash the affected area immediately. The trap, because it contains a heavy dosage of Eugenol, should be avoided by people with perfume allergies. As a last note on precautions, you should never place these traps in areas where pets travel. Diary Of A TomCat The lunch room at my workplace was having problem
