The Multiple Listing Service or MLS is how local real estate agents share data and is the most comprehensive source of properties for sale. Local groups of real estate brokers maintain these listings for their members. They’re private databases, available for public view only with the consent of local brokers. Brokers with homes to sell will post descriptions of the properties, and grant other agents the right to show the homes and relay any offers.
