What exactly is an ASP?
An Application Service Provider is a business that hosts software on the ASP’s own computer at a single site and allows end-user clients to share use of the software via remote communication connections. The ASP relieves the end-user client of the financial burden of software and hardware purchase, maintenance, and upgrades, and provides specialized services such as data storage, management, backups, training and support. In return, the end-user client typically pays a periodic service for a specified time.
