What exactly is a puppy mill? Is it just a random low life person who breeds for money and doesn take care of their dogs?
By definition, I am a puppy mill. Puppy mills are facilities that breed dogs for a profit according to the dictionary, but in many people’s eyes, a puppy mill is a place that breeds dogs for a profit and only a profit with no regard for the physical or mental health of the dogs. Medical issues are never addressed unless they interfere with the ability of the dog to breed. Eye infections turn into painful eyes that they can no longer see out of, kidney infections continue to keep dogs up all night trying to painfully urinate for years until kidney failure finally lets them rest, and the nightmarish list just goes on.
