What exactly is a hybrid car?
Hybrid simply means more than one, a combination of more than one way of doing something. With a vehicle it would not just battery power and gasoline. Both gasoline and diesel would be a hybrid, or diesel and electric or liquified natural gas propane and gasoline (been around for decades) or hydrogen and gasoline.
It’s something the manufacturers want everyone to believe is the next most advanced thing coming down the line! When in truth it’s nothing more than a new grill and a few extra switches added on to an existing body! If they gave me 400 million from the feds I could virtually guarantee the public a vehicle that would go every where and never even touch the ground! It would be so safe you could let a three year old drive it! And like computer chips the price would drop like a lead sinker each time people bought one! Can anyone explain to me why cars in Sweden have multi-fuel capability to run on either CNG,propane, methane or gasoline! If you can get a production car in Europe with those options why is it Americans are refused the same option? All vehicles should be as versatile as possible. They should be able to use what ever is the least expensive or most prevalent fuel available!
