What exactly is a Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE) or Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)? How do they complement existing reports?
An FAE is a quantitative method of assessing an individual’s measurable work capacity or, alternatively, the level at which the individual is able to function. An FAE can also assist the process of “work hardening” which is the process of working with the individual to build up and strengthen his or her functional capabilities to a point as close to the pre-injury capacity as possible.
