What exactly does the EEG machine do?
The initials EEG stand for Electroencephalogram. The EEG machine is used to diagnose the brain by measuring the electrical activity of the brain through a series of distinct tests. A doctor or technician uses the readout of the test to detect abnormalities and other potential brain problems, which can occur in the nerves, synapses, neurons and other areas of the brain due to epilepsy or other medical conditions. After the doctor evaluates the results of the EEG tests, they can recommend various different treatment methods in order to correct the abnormalities of the brain including brain surgery, if any problems are detected.
