It’s lunchtime in a honey-lit sixth floor suite of Melbourne’s Westin hotel and young Jessica Hart, 23, ambassador and star guest of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week which kicked off last night, is getting ready for a party, supermodel style. No girly, pre-party patter here. No giggly lip-gloss swaps or high-jinx. Frock-picking the supermodel way is serious business: ”This one? Maybe. No. Yes. No. That one. Yes. No. Yes.” Outside, it’s bitterly cold but in here, warm, and getting warmer and noisier as more people arrive. Hart is soon the eye of a small, glamourous storm. She works on, oblivious, lissome, nut-brown and slim to the brink – but politically, correctly short of – thinness, with small breasts, gangly arms and disarmingly pretty face framed today by a swirl of lanky cream waves.
