What exactly does Mole Day commemerate?
The holiday that is Mole Day is not widely known. It has nothing to do with the blemish on the body or the tiny animal that burrows through the ground as many have been led to believe. The Mole Day celebration revolves around a unit of basic measure in chemistry. To some, this makes the day even more strange as few believe that chemistry in not something to be celebrated. The Mole Day and related celebrations are not widely recognized outside of the chemistry community. But Mole Day supporters seek to change all of that with the implementation of Mole Day and other activities that will bring about an awareness in the surrounding communities that do not celebrate Mole Day. For people outside of the chemistry community, Mole Day is starting to gain popularity even though Mole Day and other holidays like it will never become federally mandated.
