What exactly does irrefutable mean?

You know what really grinds my gears? In theory they are not supposed to overturn the call on the field without irrefutable evidence that the call was wrong. But that concept is clearly not taken seriously by the NFL officials. Twice already in the first half I have seen calls overturned that – at best – AT BEST – were not clear and thus the call on the field should have been upheld. The Lions second TD was the result of an overturned call, saying that the runner broke the plane. As the Fox analyst Brian Billick said, Best (I believe) didn’t appear to get the ball over the line…it certainly was not enough evidence to overturn the call. And in the Giants Panthers game they overturned a call on the sideline that held the ball was juggled as the Giants receiver went out of bounds. That call could have gone either way, BUT in no way could you overturn it if the officials really were looking for irrefutable evidence. It really seems that college football has this right. They will say that
