What exactly are the judges looking for?
A. Sound structure, muscle, bone, length, depth, topline, butts, basically everything a judge would look for in a live show. Of course, they’re limited to what they see in a photo – they can only judge what they see. If not enough can be seen they will often leave the animal unplaced or move it to the bottom of the class by default. See Photo Tips for more info on presentation. Breed character is a factor in the Buck and Boer Doe divisions, but not in the Production Doe or Market Goat divisions.
