At the end of the day, the teacher lines the children up at the door, and decides if they get a special stamp that goes on a special card. The stamp is only given if the entire class was well behaved. If the class was not on their best behavior, the teacher explains what they need to do to earn a stamp the next time. Once the card is filled up with stamps, the class gets a popcorn day, or some kind of reward. This type of reinforcement is well received by the students. They work to earn their stamp. This is not the only type of positive reinforcement that I have noticed in the classroom. The teacher is constantly reinforcing the students with positive feedback. The teacher is encouraging, even when the “wrong” answer is given. This keeps the children interested in what they are learning, and allows them to try again. 7.
