What evidence does a ballistics analyst collect?
i’m pretty sure that ballistics analysts are the ones who take a spent round and define the size of the round, what type of weapon it was fired from, and try to find matches in the rifling grooves to narrow down the murder weapon to a single firearm(every firearm in the world leaves its own unique grooves on the spent round, like a fingerprint), which will hopefully point to a particular suspect in the murder case.
