What ever happened to the Chick and the Duck?

I believe the last time they were featured was in episode 2 of season 7 (The One With Rachel’s Book) where the Duck eats Rachel’s face cream and gets sick. After this they aren’t featured again and I believe this is because they became too difficult to handle. There is no specific mention of them again until the final episode when Joey buys a new Chick and Duck as a house warming gift for Monica and Chandler.
