What ever happened to Buffy Saint Marie?
Buffy St. Marie is 66 years old now and would appear to still be going strong. She is a spokesperson for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and founder of the NIHEWAN Foundation for Native American Education (The word “Nihewan” comes from the Cree language and means “talk Cree”, which implies “Be Your Culture”). She has a doctorate of philosophy and an honorary doctorate of letters. Buffy was married to musician & soundtrack composer Jack Nitzsche for 18 years until his death in 2000. They had no children.
