What events led to the end of the Vietnam War and communism there?
The failure of the “nation” the Republic of Vietnam/the Republic of South Vietnam in 1975… and the military success of the People’s Army of Vietnam in 1975 led to the end of the Vietnam War, and the beginning of Vietnam as a unified and independent nation under a Communist government. the end of the vietnam war was in two stages- the “first end” was when the North Vietnamese Tet offensive was crushed by the US/Republic of Vietnam forces- this was practically the end of the so-called “guerilla” war in South Vietnam. The US got it’s “peace accord” in the Paris talks (and the Nobel Peace Prize) and pulled out “with honour” The “peace accord” guaranteed freedom for South Vietnam- and the logical result was the full scale invasion of the North Vietnamese army the year after it was signed. South Vietnam’s army utterly defeated that attack The end result was the outcry of the “peaceniks” in the US, heavilly supported by the Democrat controlled Congress. Seems they have declared the war “unwinnable” and considered it a personal insult that it had been actually won! This resulted in the South Vietnamese being cut off (“courtesy” of US congress) from all supplies (while USSR and China were supplying the North Vietnamese with more weapons and “experts” than they could use) aft
